Spiritual Enlightenment Myths!

A friend of mine inspired me to write this article.

I hope you will enjoy reading it.

The quickest way to Spiritual Enlightenment:

There is no fast or slow method of meditation. Living in

the company of a spiritually enlightened teacher and

accepting him as your teacher of Spiritual Enlightened

only will make your journey to Self Realization, the

quickest and possible.

The limitations created by science:

I have been a formal student of both science and

western psychology besides have been studying spirituality

under the guidance of various spiritually enlightened teachers

for last fourteen years.

My personal opinion is that Science is beautiful and but when

it comes to spiritual  enlightenment, it has still to go a long way

...science has yet to be spiritual. You may use scientific discoveries

and inventions as a tool to assist you. You may use them as

a teaching aid for spiritual enlightenment. It surely helps.

But there is much... much more... needed to realize your true

self, to attain spiritual enlightenment. Science leaves an oceanic

gap between a studies on self realization and a student's attaining

self realization. To bridge that gap you need a spiritually

enlightened teacher. There is no other way. I may sound

blunt. No apologies.

Misinformation load:

Nobody is walking the talk. There is so much confusion

about spiritual enlightenment that is growing every day with

opinions and ideas from people who have no idea of Spiritual

Enlightenment. Now these ideas may sound intelligent but when

walked, crumble very quickly, and show their limitations...and

everyone has full right to try as many ideas...and at the same time,

one may like to be told; when everything else fails to work where

to look for...Find someone who walks his talk.

Knowledge is not freedom:

Dear friend, knowledge of self realization is not

self realization. Theory of self realization is not self-realization.

The body of literature on spiritual enlightenment is growing like

anything in 21C and so are the preachers with theories and

methods of attaining spiritual enlightenment.

The only way to know the difference amongst a scholar, preacher

and a teacher of spiritual Enlightenment is by watching the life of a

spiritually enlightened teacher closely. There aren't many, but there

are at least a few.

The Guru-disciple relationship:

The term Guru has been polluted by stupid people who are hell bent

to destroy the world. It is still the best term ever coined. Hence so

much prejudice against the term. The real gurus are never at loss.

If you see the divine and special relationship of Guru-disciple as

imperial, authoritarian... you have not yet, even hazily, understood

or felt this special relationship and have surely not seen the beauty

of it. It is not limiting but liberating...imperialism has never been a

way of mysticism be it eastern or western. Spirituality has always

been a threat to all forms of imperialism.

Spirituality empowers a person and takes him beyond all forms of

imperialism, racism, casteism, cults, capitalism to freedom and

happiness. Spirituality is the shortest cut to what you want.

A teacher of spiritual Enlightenment never makes you a servant or

a captive. And if someone does that, then he could be anyone or

anything but a teacher of self realization or spiritual enlightenment...

I am surprised how misrepresented the history of Spiritually Enlightened

teachers is in the textbooks. It has been a great tradition to

take care of the teacher when the teacher needs help and it is never forced

by the teacher or imposed on the disciple. It is a disciple’s way to

show gratitude and love for the teacher who showed him freedom.

One should see serving a teacher, as a personal choice of a disciple as

gratitude and is never forced or imposed. This is the tradition and this

is beautiful.

For a Spiritual Enlightened teacher there is no difference between East

and West, or between an eastern or a western student. You cannot replace

teacher-disciple relationship with anything else.

Gratitude is a quality of humans and not of machines.

Spiritual teachers are not nuts and bolts:

You cannot reduce a teacher of spiritual enlightenment to a tool or a nut

or a bolt... and start producing them in factories or universities on a mass

scale ...I wish that was possible but...not yet....

Factories, universities can surely reduce spiritual enlightenment to a concept,

hypothesis, process and they have already done it.

What do you see:

Until a person attains and realizes transpersonal perfection all he can see,

hear, taste, touch, read, is about an illusion of perfection and that will always

sound a myth.

The truth is:

Truth is not mind! Truth is not any state of mind!

Cheers!!
